Connection Groups, learning the word loving each other - puzzle pieces

Get Connected

Our desire at East Aurora Wesleyan Church is that every person is able to connect with God (faith), connect with other people (spiritual family), and connect with their community (serving).

Connecting WITH GOD

If you have just become a committed believer, here are some essential ‘First Step’ connection points to help you in your faith.

  • Attend church regularly.
Worshiping and learning in community with others is one of the best ways to re-align yourself with God.
  • Read your Bible.
God’s Word is meant to be woven throughout our lives, giving us new wisdom with each season we experience. It’s the story of His love for us since the beginning of time—something best enjoyed daily.
  • Pray.
We have the privilege of a direct connection to the Creator of the universe. Through prayer, God addresses our deepest hopes and fears, gives us direction, and expresses His love to us.
  • Get Baptized.
Baptism is our way of telling the world about our relationship with Christ. Jesus did it, and it’s an important way we can follow in His footsteps.
  • Give.
When we give, it acknowledges God as the giver of everything we have, reflects our trust that He will continue to provide for us, and allows us to be a part of His work here on earth. It’s something we do with joy.
  • Bring your family.
Following Jesus is a journey that becomes even more meaningful when shared. A great way to lay the groundwork is getting your kids involved in the ministry that’s designed just for them.
  • Get a Mentor.
Having someone to walk with you for a few months and be your spiritual ‘pal’ is a vital part of getting properly ‘rooted and grounded’ in the faith. At East Aurora Wesleyan, we will connect you with a mentor who will help you learn to study the Bible and make practical applications of truth to your life.

If you are looking to get a little more connected with those in your spiritual family, here are some considerations: The Welcome Center, Fun & Fellowship Events, Newcomer’s Desserts, Small Group Gatherings and the Membership Class.

First, there is the WELCOME CENTER. Staffed with friendly volunteers before and after all Sunday morning worship services, the Welcome Center is the place to get your questions answered and receive assistance with finding a place to connect. You’ll find the Welcome Center to the right of the main entrance of the sanctuary.

Then there are the FUN & FELLOWSHIP EVENTS. Several times a year, there are events planned to gather people together just to have a good time. Perhaps it’s a movie night, a concert, a potluck dinner, a trip – either local or out-of-town – or one of many other events. These are just great times to get to know and connect with others.

We also offer a NEWCOMERS DESSERT several times a year. It’s a relaxing, informal way to meet other newcomers, as well as church leaders. Typically, the pastor hosts this in his home.

THE MEMBERSHIP CLASS is a great connection venue for those exploring Christianity and faith, as well as deepening their commitment to God and the local church. Attending this class, you will have a chance to meet others from EAWC as well as the pastor, learn about what we believe and value, and have a chance to get your questions answered.

For those ready to meet and connect with others in a SMALL GROUP setting, we offer evening Bible Study Groups and/or Sunday morning Sunday School Classes. These venues give opportunity to get to know people personally, share in one another’s lives and encourage each other in the faith.

Finally, as you get connected, you’ll want to explore the various ministries we have available through the church. There is no joy greater than using your gifts in service to God – together with your new-found friends.
